All ferry routes to and from the Island are operated by Caledonian MacBrayne.
1. Uig Skye - Tarbert Harris (see timetables)
This first route is 1hr45mins and will take you into Tarbert, the main village/port of Harris. Dunvegan View is a further 15 minute drive. Take a left towards Leverburgh up a steep hill, drive 2 miles until you see the turn off for 'Grosebay', Dunvegan View is 3 miles down this single track road on your right hand-side.
2. Ullapool, Ross-shire - Stornoway Lewis (see timetables)
The second route takes you into the main town of the Islands called Stornoway, Harris is 40 miles south from Stornoway. The road is quite windy in parts so can take between 45-60mins to reach Tarbert and, as above, a further 15 mins to Dunvegan View.
3. Berneray, North Uist - Leverburgh Harris (see timetables)
This ferry will take you into Leverburgh, which is the main village of South Harris and then you will head North on the A859 towards Tarbert and take the turning for Grosebay & then follow the rest of the directions above.
Please Note: ALL of these routes are extremely busy in the peak season between the months of April and September, it is absolutely to essential to book especially when travelling with a vehicle.
Our local airport is based in Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewis. It has direct flights to and from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness & Aberdeen. Flights are operated by Flybe and Loganair. Flights are cheaper when booked in advance and again, also essential to book in the Summer months.
